WAT IS BOUDOIR?
Als je in Wikipedia opzoekt wat boudoir letterlijk betekent, dan staat er het volgende: "Een boudoir was een in de achttiende eeuw vooral in Frankrijk populair, meestal elegant ingericht vertrek, waarin de vrouw des huizes zich kon terugtrekken. Oorspronkelijk was het boudoir de ruimte gelegen naast de slaapkamer van de vrouw, waarin zij zich kon wassen en kleden."
Toen ook al was er de link met de sensualiteit van de vrouw en boudoir heeft zich echt ontpopt tot een eigen bijzondere fotografiestijl waar jij als vrouw centraal staat. Het mag om verleiden gaan, maar dat hoeft het zeker niet. In de eerste plaats gaat het in mijn optiek om de liefde voor jezelf als vrouw waarin je sensualiteit zeker getoond mag worden. Jouw vrouwelijke kracht, in verbinding staan met dat deel van onszelf dat we soms wegstoppen of dat we alleen zien als iets in relatie tot een partner. Het is van jou en je mag het aan jezelf laten zien, ervaren, erkennen.
Boudoir heeft door de sensualiteit iets spannends, voor sommigen zelfs iets wat ze not done vinden, of iets wat we niet bij onszelf vinden passen. Maar juist omdat boudoir in allerlei vormen getoond kan worden, is het toegankelijk voor veel vrouwen. Ja het mag helemaal naakt zijn of in lingerie, maar het mag net zo goed in een oversized trui zijn (lees ook zeker mijn tips over wat aan te doen naar een boudoirshoot). Naakt is niet de essentie, maar de liefde voor jezelf en dat wat jou helemaal jou maakt. Dat mag wat mij betreft getoond worden. In welke vorm dan ook.

WAAROM EEN BOUDOIR SHOOT?
Waarom zou je een boudoirshoot boeken? Het is een vraag die ik weleens krijg wanneer een klant een glamourshoot of brandingshoot bij mij heeft geboekt en ik mijn portretten laat zien. Als fotograaf zul je bij mij naast de vele glamourshoots en de shoots in lekkere casualkleding of in pak, namelijk ook veel boudoirportretten zien. Ik hou echt ontzettend van deze fotografiestijl. Het is zo ontzettend krachtig om te zien wat een portretshoot met een vrouw kan doen, wat voor zelfvertrouwen het haar kan geven. En bij een boudoirshoot gaat het vaak nog een tandje dieper. Het is het overwinnen van een beeld dat je misschien van jezelf had. Dat jij niet die mooie, sensuele vrouw kan zijn. Dat jouw lichaam niet ideaal of perfect is om zo vast te leggen? Een boudoirshoot is de bevestiging dat jij dat allemaal wel bent. Alles wat je niet durfde te zijn en te voelen vastgelegd op beeld. Ik zie veel vrouwen zichzelf overwinnen en compleet uit hun comfortzone stappen. en dan als het moment daar is dat ze hun eigen portretten zien. Dat zij dat zijn, dat zij dat uitstralen.
